Foo Café Foundation · Malmö
Over 10 years and hundreds of events, we have built the most trusted platform for tech knowledge-sharing in the Malmö region. Now we help organisations tap into that network — through events that actually work.
What we do
You know what you want to say and who you want to reach. We know how to create an event that people actually show up to — and talk about afterwards. That combination is rare.
Our newsletter, network, and community reach across the Malmö-Copenhagen tech scene. When we promote an event, people come.
Speaker sourcing, logistics, registration, hosting, and follow-up. We handle everything so you focus on what matters.
Events run under the Foo Café brand carry trust built over a decade. Attendees come to learn — not to be sold to. That creates a better room.
Based at Media Evolution City in central Malmö — a neutral, well-connected space that attracts the right crowd.
From developers and designers to founders and CIOs — we know how to reach specific segments of the tech community.
Programmes like FooCoding and CoderDojo give organisations a way to engage with education and digital skills development.
Packages
We have structured our work into clear packages so it is easy to plan, budget, and get started. All packages are turn-key — you define the goal, we handle the rest.
Starter
Perfect for testing the format or a one-off topic. A professionally organised event in our space, promoted to our community.
Core
Five events, planned together. Build a consistent presence and a recurring conversation with the tech community on your terms.
Tailored
Larger ambitions, special formats, or a specific programme goal? We scope a bespoke solution around your needs.
Track record
Foo Café started as an experiment: could you run a conference-quality event, every week, in Malmö? The answer was yes. Over a decade we built the most active independent tech community platform in the region — without venture capital, without a parent company, and without compromising on quality.
Companies like Skatteverket and Sony Mobile have used our platform to reach the tech community. User groups, startups, and institutions have all found that events through Foo Café simply work better.

Who we work with
You do not have to be a tech company to work with us. You need to have something valuable to offer the community — and we help you make that connection.
Employer branding, developer outreach, product launches, community building — reach the people you want to hire or work with.
Skatteverket, municipalities, regional bodies — engage the digital economy and demonstrate relevance. Our foundation structure makes partnership straightforward.
Connect academic work to industry, attract students to programmes, and build bridges between research and the tech community in the region.
Banks, logistics, retail — organisations going through digital transformation who need to attract technical talent or build digital credibility.
Skills development, inclusion, youth coding initiatives — we can help structure and run programmes with access to public funding streams.
Invest in Skåne, science parks, innovation clusters — we are a natural partner for building a visible, active tech ecosystem in the region.
A Swedish government authority commissioned Foo Café to plan and run a series of five events, targeting the regional tech community. We handled everything from topic definition and speaker sourcing to promotion, logistics, and follow-up — delivered as a fixed-price turn-key package. This is exactly the kind of engagement we excel at.
The person behind it
I wanted to create a conference experience — but every day, year round. That vision became Foo Café.
Michael Tiberg founded Foo Café after seven years running Øredev, one of Scandinavia's leading developer conferences. He wanted to take what made a great conference — great speakers, curious people, a safe space to learn — and make it a permanent part of the Malmö landscape.
What followed was over a decade of community-building: hundreds of events, thousands of attendees, and a platform that became the connective tissue of the Malmö tech scene. Today, through Foo Café Foundation, that experience is available to organisations who want to be part of something that genuinely matters to the community.
